Neurodivergence Affirming Therapy for Adults
Are you struggling in a world demanding you to be neurotypical?
The term neurodivergence refers to the natural variability of the human brain. It includes a wide spectrum of thoughts, emotions, or behaviors that have historically been stigmatized as unhealthy, abnormal, or dangerous. While many DSM diagnosis and labels fall under neurodiversity, the term ALSO includes dimensional, diverse, and varied forms of functioning that can come with unique challenges in how neurodivergent folks move through the world.
While I am not able to provide a formal diagnosis, I will affirm your experience living in a world that does not accommodate neurodivergence and often treats ND with hostility. With or without an “official” diagnosis, we will explore your struggles, anxieties, internalized beliefs, traumas, masking behaviors, and the profound impacts of camouflauging in exchange for experiences of belonging, acceptance, and connection.
Some examples of neurodivergence can include:
Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)
Autism
Sensory Processing Disorder
PTSD
ADHD
