Parenting
I was the perfect parent before I had kids.
"The practice of love offers no place of safety. We risk loss, hurt, pain. We risk being acted upon by forces outside our control." - bell hooks
Maybe you’re a new parent who is completely undone by the most delirious, intense season of change. Or maybe you’re burned out from all the caregiving, advocating, developing the fluency of a language that is unique only to your child - decoding their body language, anticipating the energy of every room, always thinking ten miles ahead. You catch glimpses of joy, but so much of your experience is clouded by overwhelm, anxiety, loneliness, self-criticism - you’re wondering if you’re enough, if you’re doing enough.
People often come to see me to untangle the heartbreak, uncertainty, and grief that are often wrapped up in our parenting experiences. As a certified Perinatal Mental Health practitioner, I am here to support you through the emotional toll of it all.
